Human lung cancer cells A549 and NCIH460 are vastly sensitive to subamolide A (isolated from Cinnamomum subavenium)-induced mitotic catastrophe and apoptosis, mainly via ROS upregulation that induces ataxia-telangiectasia mutation (ATM) and ATF3 activation, subsequently resulting in p53-mediated cell death (104). This evidence concerns the gene ATM and lung cancer.
