CD4 and autoimmune hepatitis: The immunologic disarrangement of AIH is thought to be based on the sustained response to self-antigens within the liver provoked or mediated by the combinations of pathogenic factors, and it is characterized by T-lymphocyte mediated disorganization (predominated by CD4+T cells) and imbalance in the regulation of immune cells (e.g. decrease in the number of Tregs) 12-14.
