KLF3 and cancer: Besides involvement in biological processes, including adipogenesis, erythropoiesis, and B cell development,29, 30, 31, 32 KLF3 may also exert protective roles in cancer progression such as cellular growth, apoptosis, and metastasis.33, 34, 35 miRNAs including miR-20a-5p, miR-144-3p, and miR-204-5p are found to regulate the expression of KLF3.36, 37, 38 However, whether other miRNAs are also involved in the regulation of KLF3 in human cancer cells needs to be further studied.
