Regarding the negative regulation exerted by microRNAs on STK11 expression in human cancers, it has been reported that miR-199a, miR-17 and miR-155 might regulate STK11 expression in cervical cancer [30,31,32]; in pancreatic cancer mir-7 represses autophagy via directly targeting LKB1 [33].
