STK11 and lip and oral cavity carcinoma: miR-100 is deregulated in several cancer types and acts as a tumor suppressor, as is the case of oral cancer [56], epithelial ovarian cancer [57], bladder cancer [58], and hepatocellular carcinoma [59], among others, but to our knowledge, this is the first report showing STK11 is negatively regulated by miR-100-3p in human cancer.
