The TAMs are derived from myelomonocytic cells and are inducted to the microenvironment of the tumour by tumour‐derived chemokines and cytokines, including VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor), CCL2 (chemokine C‐C motif ligand 2), M‐CSF (macrophage colony‐stimulating factor) and TGF‐β (transforming growth factor‐beta).8, 9, 10.
