Interestingly, bioinformatics analysis with the TCGA database showed that there was a positive correlation between NEK2 and β-catenin mRNA expression in cervical cancer tissues (Additional file 4: Figure S2), further suggesting that NEK2 may be a critical regulator of Wnt/β-catenin signaling in cervical cancer. The gene discussed is NEK2; the disease is cervical carcinoma.
