Clinical diagnosis of oral cancer through the multiplexed detection of IL-6, IL-8, VEGF-C, and VEGF with LODs from 5 to 50 fg mL−1 [96] and prediction of mucositis reaction from oral cancer treatment through detection of cytokines; tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α), IL-6, Interleukin-1β (IL-1β), and c-reactive protein (CPR) at 10–50 fg mL−1 LODs [101] are good examples of clinical applications of MB-based systems. Here, TNF is linked to lip and oral cavity carcinoma.
