B7‐H3 expression is increased in both primary and metastatic melanoma and its impediment declines metastasis to the brain, tibia, columna, lung, and liver, dramatically, through declining the signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (Stat3) phosphorylation level, reducing IL‐8 formation, downregulation of matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2), and upregulation of tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases 1 (TIMP‐1) and TIMP‐2 [33]. This evidence concerns the gene TIMP1 and metastatic melanoma.
