ANO1 inhibitors have decreased the cell viability in breast cancer, head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) by inhibiting the activity of Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II (CAMKII) and the expression of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) [8,29]. Here, EGFR is linked to esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.
