NFKB1 and autoimmune disease: These results are consistent with other AMPs reducing pathogen-induced proinflammatory factor secretion and expression in the intestine by affecting MAPK and NF-κB pathway in vitro and in vivo [34,63,64,65], suggesting that MccJ25 as a prophylactic drug could be useful to lower inflammation in inflammatory/autoimmune disease of the gut, such as IBD.
