Recently, it was reported that obesity was associated with the regulation of various stress kinases activity, such as mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK), c-Jun NH2-terminal kinase (JNK), an inhibitor of NF-kB kinase complex beta (IKKβ), AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), protein kinase C (PKC), Rho associated coiled-coil containing protein kinase (ROCK) and RNA-activated protein kinase (PKR) [40]. Here, WNK2 is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
