Given the extremely limited number of available samples from HGPS patients, we then collected blood from HGPS mouse models carrying the progerin mutation G609G (N = 3, 13–14 weeks old) and we compared the level of circulating BMP4 with age-matched healthy mice (N = 3, 15 weeks old) as well as with extremely old mice (N = 5, about 2 years old). Here, LMNA is linked to Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome.
