Three of these NHRs – progesterone receptor (PGR), estrogen receptor 1 (ESR1), and androgen receptor (AR) – have been previously reported to lose expression in subsets of endometrial carcinomas [10, 23], which confirms that our approach can capture NHRs known to lose expression in endometrial carcinoma. The gene discussed is ESR1; the disease is endometrial carcinoma.
