Increased levels of CCL-11 have been detected in numerous neuro-inflammatory disorders such as multiple sclerosis [13], as well as neurodegenerative and neuroprogressive disorders including Alzheimer’s disease [8] and psychiatric illnesses including major depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia [8,11,13,14,15]. The gene discussed is CCL11; the disease is early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
