Previous population studies have identified several BRCA1/2 pathogenic mutations in Caucasians, for example, BRCA1 c.68_69del, BRCA1 c.5266dup, and BRCA2 c.5946del were the most frequent variants and could greatly increase the cumulative risk of breast cancer during a woman's lifetime [6–10]. This evidence concerns the gene BRCA1 and breast carcinoma.
