GO and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment analysis of the T2D macrophage cluster in comparison with non-T2D control macrophage cluster revealed that diabetic wound macrophages upregulated the expression of genes with roles in immune response, inflammatory response, NF-κB signaling, and TNF signaling pathways (Figure 5D). This evidence concerns the gene NFKB1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
