Furthermore, when HCC subtypes derived from our ARID1A gene signature were systematically compared with previously validated gene signatures, we confirmed the correlation of our ARID1A-low subtype with the poor-prognosis subtypes NCIP A, which reflected high proliferation; hepatic stem cell, where the stem cell subtype is known to be associated with poor prognosis in all cancers; silence of the Hippo pathway, where the Hippo pathway is indispensable in restricting cell growth and proliferation and its inactivation leads to poor prognosis; and recurrence-high SNUR.
