ZNF331, as a tumor suppressor gene, has also been reported to have low expression in colorectal cancer (Wang et al., 2017), esophageal cancer (Jiang et al., 2015), gastric cancer (Yu et al., 2013), and liver cancer (Wang et al., 2013), and its low expression is related to hypermethylation of its promoter region. This evidence concerns the gene ZNF331 and esophageal cancer.
