At the earlier 3  hpm time point we found mating-induced upregulation of transglutaminase 2 (TGase2), a member of an enzyme family involved in chemical crosslinking of proteins in the hemocel that is implicated in the coagulation responses that follow infection or trauma31 and was previously shown to be involved in JNK-dependent wounding responses in An. gambiae27 (Table 1). The gene discussed is TGM2; the disease is infection.
