To reveal the mechanism by which SCD and CDH3 increased the metastatic ability of esophageal cancer cells, we searched on the LinkedOmics database (http://www.linkedomics.org/) and found both SCD and CDH3 expression were positively correlated with the Wnt pathway widely known to be associated with cell metastasis (Supplementary Fig. S4A, B)23–25, which was verified by qRT-PCR and western blotting (Supplementary Fig. S5A, B). The gene discussed is SCD; the disease is esophageal cancer.
