After identifying 30 μM was the optimal concertration of SB202190 (Supplementary Fig. S6D), a commonly used inhibitor of the p38 pathway34–36, we applied SB202190 and SFE successively to process esophageal cancer cells and further verified p38, p53 and GADD45B could be reactivated by SFE (Supplementary Fig. S6E). The gene discussed is GADD45B; the disease is esophageal cancer.
