In LPS-treated macrophages from C57Bl/6 mice, the intracellular infection was associated with a modest but significant decrease in the expression of class I MHC molecules at 24 h post-infection (Figure 1(A)) but it did not significantly affect the expression of class II MHC, CD80 and CD86 costimulatory molecules (Figure 1(B–D)).
