A total of 28 CDSs were predicted in this cagPAI including genes of all known components of a syringe-like type four secretion system (T4SS)—i.e., cagζ/cag1, cagε/cag2, cagδ/cag3, cagγ/cag4, cagβ/cag5, cagα, cagZ, cagY, cagX, cagW, cagV, cagU, cagT, cagS, cagQ, cagP, cagM, cagN, cagL, cagI, cagH, cagG, cagF, cagE, cagD, cagC, and cagB—as well as cagA which represent major virulence factors with a well-acknowledged causative role in gastric cancer development [26,27]. The gene discussed is DDX53; the disease is gastric cancer.
