Since defects in Fat3 gene are associated with several neuropsychiatric diseases, such as schizophrenia, autism, and ataxia (Yan et al., 2016; Baron et al., 2019; Capkova et al., 2019), our finding may provide a hint that links microglial dysregulations to the onset of these diseases. The gene discussed is FAT3; the disease is schizophrenia.
