Finally, 5 conditions were associated with increased COVID-19-related mortality: (i) age > 70 years (OR 2.1, 95% CI 1.2–3.8, p = 0.011); (ii) uncontrolled hematological disease (OR 2.9, 95% CI 1.6–5.2, p < 0.0001); (iii) ECOG 3–4 (OR, 2.56, 95% CI 1.4–4.7, p = 0.003); (iv) neutropenia (< 0.5 × 109/L) (OR 2.8, 95% CI 1.3–6.1, p = 0.01); and (v) CRP > 20 mg/dL (OR 3.3, 95% CI 1.7–6.4, p < 0.0001). This evidence concerns the gene CRP and neutropenia.
