The participants with lower activity of GPx3 was more likely to be older (p = .009) and to have higher mean CIMT (p = .004) and hs‐CRP (p = .012) levels, as well as to have the history of smoking (p = .025), previous coronary heart disease (p = .042), and carotid plaque (p = .049).
