In order to confirm astroglia-targeted deletion of IκKβ, we comparatively analyzed IκKβ expression and downstream activity (by analysis of p65 phosphorylation, a critical component of the canonical pathway of NF-κB activation) in the retina and optic nerve samples obtained from transgenic mice and controls with or without experimentally induced ocular hypertension. Here, NFKB1 is linked to ocular hypertension.
