The novel finding is that the levels of activated (CD44+ and CD69+) and pathogenic (CD101+CD274+) eosinophils were particularly higher in subjects with moderate-severe HDM-allergic rhinitis compared to the mild patients and healthy controls and were positively correlated with the TNSS and serum ECP levels in subjects with allergic rhinitis. The gene discussed is CD274; the disease is allergic rhinitis.
