To test this hypothesis, we evaluated the efficacy of PDMP, PPMP, and eliglustat37, three different inhibitors of glucosylceramide synthase (also known as UGCG; UDP-glucose:ceramide glucosyltransferase), a rate-limiting enzyme in glycosphingolipid metabolism38, for reducing viability of RM-9 and PC-3M prostate cancer cells in vitro.
