RBL2 and ovarian carcinoma: As a member of the Rb family of proteins, RBL2 typically forms a complex with E2F2, preventing cell cycle progression and inducing cell cycle arrest at the G0/G1 phases. As a result of the miR-106a-mediated downregulation of RBL2 in ovarian cancer, these cells become highly proliferative due to the absence of this complex.
