We previously found that MAIT cell numbers increased substantially after the first week of LVS pulmonary infection (days 8–9), reached a peak during the clearance phase of infection (days 10–14), and declined slowly thereafter but remained a notable presence in the lungs for a long time (>56 days) (9).Thus we examined MAIT cell accumulation in the lungs of CXCR6−/−and WT mice on days 10 and 54 after LVS IN infection. This evidence concerns the gene CXCR6 and infection.
