AKT1 and stroke disorder: The Akt-mTOR signaling cascade contributes to some physiological and pathological processes, such as morphine tolerance, hyperalgesia, reconsolidation of cocaine contextual reward memory, protection against stroke, and angiogenesis, just to name a few (Shi et al., 2014; Xiong et al., 2014; Xu J.T. et al., 2014).
