Infants with BPD displayed significantly lower mean levels of HbF (%), Hb (g/L) and total PaO2 (kPa) during the first postnatal week, before and after adjustment for GA at birth, BW SGA, sex, highest and lowest FiO2 (12 hours) and CRIB-II score, compared with infants without BPD. This evidence concerns the gene GSTM1 and bronchopulmonary dysplasia.
