SLC5A2 and atrial fibrillation: SGLT2 inhibitor treatment was associated with a significantly reduced AF/AFL incidence, when analysing trials with follow-ups longer 2 years (RR: 0.76; 95% CI 0.64–0.89; p = 0.001), whereas no significant differences were observed with follow-up durations shorter 2 years (RR: 0.91; 95% CI 0.44–1.89; p = 0.79) (Additional file 1: Figure S1).
