The harm of blood sugar fluctuations to chronic complications of diabetes is even greater than that of persistent high blood sugar.[5,6] Blood sugar fluctuations are closely related to the occurrence and development of chronic complications of diabetes.[7–10] Related studies have shown that insulin resistance, oxidative stress, and inflammatory factors can cause blood sugar instability in diabetic patients.[11,12] This increases the risk of various complications of diabetes. This evidence concerns the gene INS and diabetes mellitus.
