MAL and colonic neoplasm: MAL plays a role in T-cell development [67], and has been recently identified as a potential cancer biomarker, which undergoes severe promoter methylation and down-regulated expression in a wide range of cancers, such as colon cancer [68], cervical cancer [69,70], gastric cancer [71,72], head and neck cancer [73,74], and oral squamous cell carcinoma [75].
