These results are in agreement with those obtained by de Amorim et al. [29], who used rats with hyperglycemia induced by aloxan, and performed immunohistochemical evaluation of the expression of OPG, RANK and RANKL and the RANKL/OPG proportion in the regions of bone repair at time intervals of 7 and 14 days after creating a bone defect in the tibias.
