TNFRSF11B and Hyperglycemia: In conjunction, these results suggested that OPG and RANKL were not directly associated with the lower level of bone neoformation observed in the hyperglycemic animals and that other metabolic pathways (Wnt/β-catenin, semaphorins, bone morphogenetic proteins, metalloproteinases) must be studied in an endeavor to elucidate the mechanism responsible for the reduction in alveolar bone neoformation associated with hyperglycemia.β
