In a mouse pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma model, genetic manipulation of the E-cadherin interacting partner p120-catenin was used to demonstrate that E-cadherin expression and epithelial status were associated primarily with liver metastases, whereas disruption of E-cadherin shifted metastatic colonization to the lungs [63]. Here, CDH1 is linked to pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.
