A literature review reveals potential therapeutic use for both agonists and antagonists targeting any of the three receptors for cancer therapy [9,10]: BB3R agonists for the treatment of obesity/diabetes mellitus [11]; BB2R antagonists for the treatment of radiation-induced lung injury [12] and BB1R or BB2R antagonists for the treatment of itching in atopic dermatitis [13]. The gene discussed is GRPR; the disease is obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
