Interestingly, it was shown that the nuclear receptor, the liver receptor homologue 1, a member of nuclear receptor of subfamily 5 group A (LRH-1 or NR5A2), which acts upstream of ORP3 in liver hepatocytes and promotes non-alcoholic fatty liver disease by activating de novo lipogenesis via ORP3 [36], is a novel prognostic marker in colon cancer patients [37,38,39]. The gene discussed is OSBPL3; the disease is metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
