Hafez et al. [11] reported that the up-regulation of miR-155 was associated with the down-regulation of anti-angiogenic activity of TIMP1, TMP1 and TIMP3 genes, the up-regulation of genes involved in tumour invasion and metastasis (MMP2 and MMP9) and with upregulation of VEGF, known to be linked to angiogenesis.
