Hafez et al. [11] reported that the up-regulation of miR-155 was associated with the down-regulation of anti-angiogenic activity of TIMP1, TMP1 and TIMP3 genes, the up-regulation of genes involved in tumour invasion and metastasis (MMP2 and MMP9) and with upregulation of VEGF, known to be linked to angiogenesis. This evidence concerns the gene MMP2 and neoplasm.
