Cholesterol (77 ± 9 vs 63 ± 12 mg/dL), alanine aminotransferase (ALT, 196 ± 127 vs 47 ± 6 U/L) and gamma glutamyl transferase (GGT, 6 ± 2 vs 4 ± 2 U/L) were not different in diabetes and controls, respectively. This evidence concerns the gene GPT and diabetes mellitus.
