Examining the cellular levels of cIAP2 in H. pylori infected AGS cells revealed that the expression of cIAP2 was upregulated by the infection in a CagA-dependent manner since infection of AGS cells with WT but not the cagA-deficient H. pylori enhanced the expression levels of cIAP2 (Fig. 5c).
