In fact, as outlined by Qin et al. [15], in COVID-19 the hyperinflammation mediated by IL-1, tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) and IL-6 leads to an increase of plasma concentrations of fibrinogen, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1) and neutrophil to lymphocytes ratio (NLR), mainly due to T CD4+ lymphocytes reduction. Here, TNF is linked to COVID-19.
