To extend these findings, we performed targeted sequencing of plasma DNA collected from patients undergoing prostatectomy for presumed localised prostate cancer (n = 189), focussing on TP53, one of the most commonly mutated genes in prostate cancer, and one that is positively enriched for in metastatic disease (including in patient 11196_3) [20, 30]. This evidence concerns the gene TP53 and prostate cancer.
