IGHE and food allergy: Non–IgE-mediated reactions, such as food protein–induced enterocolitis syndrome, can manifest as repetitive vomiting in the 1- to 4-hour period after ingestion of the suspect food, in the absence of classic IgE-mediated skin or respiratory symptoms, with cow’s milk and soy being the most common triggers.21,22,23,24 Most other non–IgE-mediated food allergies follow a short-term or long-term timeline but can be managed by elimination of the most common suspected antigens, instead of introducing all foods with significant waiting periods.
