No significant differences in EPC level—identified as CD45dimCD34+CD133+ mononuclear cells, as detailed in the Methods section [28]—were found in MA patients in comparison with HD and ACVD controls (0.095 ± 0.197 in MA patients, 0.098 ± 0.104 in HD and 0.045 ± 0.032 in ACVD controls; p = 0.913 and p = 0.118 respectively; Figure 1A).
