In order to assess whether the presence of diabetes exerted a bias in our analysis of the influence of OA administration on blood-derived secretome angiogenic composition (note; all subjects not receiving OA were non-diabetic), we examined the concentration of VEGF, TSP-1 and PF-4 in hypoxia preconditioned plasma and serum (HPP, HPS) samples, derived from non-diabetic and diabetic subjects who had not taken OA in the past 6 months. This evidence concerns the gene PF4 and diabetes mellitus.
