A classic example of cross reactivity of virus-induced memory T cells with alloantigens is that of HLA-B*08:01 bearing patients who have been exposed to Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection showing cross-reactivity to allogeneic HLA-B*44:02 (6, 31).
