Bamps et al. (56) studied the post-LLLT (830 nm, 1 and 2 J/cm2) proliferation of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) cell lines and reported an increased cell proliferation with expression of phosphor-protein kinase B (Akt), phospho-ERK and Ki67 gene markers implying an increased cancer aggressiveness. Here, AKT1 is linked to cancer.
