No significant differences were observed between the two groups in sex, age, Child–Pugh class, presence of hepatitis B/C virus infection, serum total bilirubin, serum albumin, tumor size, and tumor location (perivascular or subcapsular tumor), whereas the serum alanine aminotransferase level, prothrombin time, platelet count, and the serum alpha-fetoprotein level differed significantly.
